Decarbonisation of Synqo Energies: Presentation of the results of the Group and XL Techniques Carbon Footprint
To assess its greenhouse gas emissions as accurately as possible, Synqo Energies has carried out a new carbon footprint assessment. Discover the key results.
True to its environmental commitments, the Synqo Energies Group is actively working to reduce its carbon impact. To closely monitor progress towards the objectives set by the Group, the QHSE teams conduct a comprehensive carbon footprint assessment every two years, covering scopes 1, 2 and 3, in order to accurately evaluate Synqo Energies’ greenhouse gas emissions.
The results of this latest Carbon Footprint were shared in June 2025.
This carbon footprint assessment was carried out by the consulting firm Kaba Impact, a licensed member of the ABC (Association for the Low-Carbon Transition), in accordance with the Bilan Carbone® methodologies of ADEME and the GHG Protocol.
The period covered runs from 1 April 2023 to 31 March 2024.
A decrease in carbon intensity
The first key finding of this Carbon Footprint is that the Group’s greenhouse gas emissions decreased by 12% over the 2022–2024 period (scopes 1 and 2),
confirming the effectiveness of the actions implemented to reduce our footprint related to energy consumption.
While carbon intensity has decreased, the Group’s total volume of emissions has increased. This is explained by the Group’s significant growth in recent years, notably through the integration of two new subsidiaries: FPS Synqo Energies and GazDetect Synqo Energies.
For the year assessed, Synqo Energies’ greenhouse gas emissions are therefore estimated at approximately 16,000 tonnes of CO2e, including around 800 tonnes of direct emissions (scope 1), 10 tonnes of indirect emissions associated with energy consumption (scope 2), and 15,000 tonnes of indirect emissions resulting from the organisation’s upstream and downstream activities (scope 3).
Target: -6% emissions within 2 years
The Synqo Energies Group is determined to continue its decarbonisation trajectory. A target of a 6% reduction in emissions for scopes 1 and 2 has been set, along with a 5% reduction in carbon intensity across scopes 1, 2 and 3. To achieve this, the Group has committed to new actions: implementation of a purchasing policy incorporating CSR criteria, organisation of eco-design workshops with key suppliers to identify levers for reducing the use of materials, partial transition of the vehicle fleet to electric vehicles, energy audits of buildings, training teams in eco-friendly practices and climate-related issues, etc.
In order to precisely monitor the impact of the various measures implemented, the Synqo Energies Group will also strengthen data collection and introduce carbon performance indicators.
